Staud has dropped a debut track titled “Like This” on SoundCloud. The single has a Hip Hop and Pop feeling.

The track “Like This” commences with a guitar chord arrangement, guitar licks, and tasty sound fx. Staud provides us with the hook as he builds to the downbeat of the drums.

I enjoy the vocal melody as Staud does an exceptional job, emphasizing certain words and combining them with vocal dubs and adlibs. The emotional feeling he places on his lyrics provides us with extra vibes, which many artists are not achieving. Hip Hop’s emotion has been on the downfall, and I salute Staud for providing this in his music.

The lyrical content seems to have a sphere around an ex-partner, and the issues revolve around those times in a breakup. You can feel the intensity as Staud gives us the truth from his heart.

Overall the production is well done. However, the vocal mix does have, in my opinion, a deficiency where it lacks compression. A little threshold would capture more of the peaks.

We look forward to more releases from Philadelphia-based artist.
