Darrell Kelley has dropped an emotional and compelling narrative in his latest single titled “Ahmaud.” The track has an R&B vibe with Hip Hop flavor, wrapped up in a high power feeling.
The intro to the song “Ahmaud,” Darrell Kelley, makes it clear that the track is for all black and brown that have been murdered— and dedicated directly to the tragedy of Ahmaud Arbery.
Many of the aspects that attract me to the single “Ahmaud” is how Darrell Kelley is educating us – influencing, empowering, with heartful vigor vocals and providing the emotional pieces of the story, on the senseless murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
“On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Marquez Arbery, an unarmed 25-year-old African-American man, was fatally shot near Brunswick in Glynn County, Georgia, while jogging on Holmes Road just before entering its intersection with Satilla Drive in the Satilla Shores neighborhood.”[3][4]
The hook, a power hook, provides chills and makes the music consumer wanting more of Darrell Kelley’s voice as he cries out for Ahmaud, adding ad-libs, and backing vocals repeating ‘We Want Justice.”
The song “Ahmaud” is what the world continuously needs to make better by education and influence by the use of digital music. I salute Darrell Kelley for taking action.
On behalf of Hip Hop Crowns team and myself – we ask for a moment of silence for Ahmaud Arbery, his family, and friends.
